Once you live in New Orleans, you quickly realize that costuming is a way of celebrating both life and death. Miss Hein has fallen in love with the mystical side of the city and has mastered art of headdress making. Her pieces are guaranteed to be both mighty and mystical. These are truly wearable works of art...so comfortable you won't want to take them off even after the night is over.
This wedding costume design could not have been more up Miss Hein's ally. The client and dear friend Julia, had two requests; the bride's look was to be inspired by David Bowie + Cher and the groom's, Dolly Parton + a luchador. She equipped then with 12 inch fringe, jewels, gems, a mask and headdress and sent them second lining all the way down St. Charles Street.
Looking for a creative way to bring your funky friends and families together? Roll out the rhinestoned carpet and throw a headdress workshop. Miss Hein is here to hot glue gun you through every feathery step of the way! She is currently holding private workshops at her artist residency SALON at Canal Place but always open to create off site.
Here is a little peak at one of the most recent headdress workshops she lead at a local art space called the Art Garage.
